Artist Goldhart says his bike project finally came together once he found Walnut Studiolo’s Bullwhip Braided Leather Bar Wrap.
“The end result is stunning!” he says. “These leather wraps are truly the centerpiece of the build.”
Presenting our newest design! This all-leather bin pull is perfect for tidy drawer faces. The shape of our bin pull mimics the look of vintage metal bin pulls, but it’s made with sturdy leather, warm to the touch and soft on impact.
Like Portland’s Morrison bridge, our bin pull is a clever feat of industrial design, utilizing hefty American-sourced equestrian leather for opening even the heaviest of drawers.
“The Morrison” bin pull is handcrafted, sustainable, and always American-made in our Oregon workshop.

In the past 10 years or so, maker-made items have become more readily available thanks in large part to sales sites like Etsy, and we think that’s pretty exciting. Makers have been making for as long as humans have been around. Not only because “makers gonna make” but also because people need a variety of items for everyday use and pleasure.
We all know how easily the rigors of daily life can overshadow simple pleasures. Sometimes all it takes is a special gift on a momentous occasion to help us reconnect with what matters most.
We use the same, high quality, vegetable-tanned leather that has always traditionally been used for equestrian sport, so it’s a natural outdoor material (saddles, reins, bridles, etc). Our American vegetable-tanned leather is infused with waxes in the tannery to stand up to horse sweat, mud, and rain – in other words, just like riding a bicycle!
For architects, draftsmen, and draftswomen, engineers and designers, there is no finer gift than a handcrafted leather piece. It always makes a memorable statement to potential clients and bosses – but if well-chosen, it will also be a useful tool for their work.
At Walnut Studiolo, our products are designed and handcrafted by former architecture principal Geoffrey Franklin. All our products are inspired by things he wanted for himself, but couldn’t quite find on the marketplace – so he made them himself!
